CNC lathes are divided into two types: vertical CNC lathes and horizontal CNC lathes.
The vertical CNC lathe is used for turning the disc parts with large rotary diameter.
Horizontal CNC lathes are used for turning parts with long axial dimensions or small discs.
Horizontal CNC lathes can be further divided into economical CNC lathes, ordinary CNC lathes and turning machining centers according to their functions.
Economical CNC lathe: a simple CNC lathe formed after the transformation of the turning feed system of the ordinary lathe by stepping motor and single chip microcomputer. The cost is low, the degree of automation and functions are relatively poor, and the turning accuracy is not high. It is suitable for turning of rotating parts with low requirements.
Ordinary CNC lathe: according to the requirements of turning processing in the structure of the special design, equipped with a general CNC system and the formation of CNC lathe. The function of the numerical control system is strong, the degree of automation and the machining accuracy are relatively high, and it is suitable for the turning of general rotary parts. This CNC lathe can simultaneously control two coordinate axes, namely the x-axis and the z-axis.
Turning center
Turning processing center: on the basis of ordinary numerical control lathe, the C axis and power head are added. better machine tools also have tool magazine, which can control three coordinate axes of X,Z and C. the linkage control axis can be (X,Z), (X,C) or (Z,C). Due to the increase of the C- axis and milling power head, the processing function of this CNC lathe is greatly enhanced. In addition to general turning, it can also be used for radial and axial milling, curved surface milling, holes whose center line is not in the center of rotation of parts, and drilling of radial holes.
Hydraulic chuck and hydraulic tailstock
Hydraulic chuck is an important accessory for clamping workpieces during numerical control turning. Ordinary hydraulic chuck can be used for general rotary parts. For parts that are not cylindrical, special chuck is required. Spring chuck is required when processing parts directly with bar stock. For parts with a large ratio of axial size to radial size, it is necessary to support the end of the part installed on the hydraulic tailstock to ensure the correct processing of the part. The tailstock has ordinary hydraulic tailstock and programmable hydraulic tailstock.
